Are Vedas Apaurusheya?

This has been a perennial question. Before plunging into the subject, let's first try to understand what are 'Vedas' & what is 'Apaurusheya'?
The quintessence of quest of human life has always been 'Happiness'. All the do's and dont's revolve around this basic requirement of every living being which has been eluding us!
The realized seers of yesteryears have lived their life as per the guidelines of Sanatana Dharma (another name of Hinduism) propounded in the Vedas. Hence they ask us to follow the same path in order to reach the goal of everlasting joy and happiness.
So, the way of life, do's and dont's not just for today but years to come has been prescribed in the Vedas. The immediate question that follows is why should someone follow what has been prescribed in Vedas? Why not go with other famous philosophers that we confide in!? Why not do something what we think and feel is right? The simple answer is philosophies propounded by humans will inevitably have some kind of human defect. They might not have the holistic approach. They would have missed certain perspectives. Since Vedas have not been written by anyone, they do not contain the defects that can be found in any human composition.
Since they are eternal like God and Jivas (individual souls) and author-less, they are free of any kind of defects and applicable to all humans at all times. This is another reason why Hinduism is sometimes referred to as Sanaatana Dharma, meaning tenets applicable at all times.
Still, how & why should be believe that they are author-less? One of the simple answers could be that no one has so far claimed the authorship of Vedas!
One of the scholars Shri Sreekanthachar Mukkundi has dealt with this vast and interesting subject seriously and has delivered about 10 hours of pravachana only to prove the Apaurusheyetva of Vedas.
It's indeed the fountain head of our belief system. What we do today or don't do is a product of our belief system that is deeply ingrained in us. In order to act correctly, it's of paramount importance that we align our thought process and belief system in accordance with the Vedas. Failure to do so might give us grief or sometimes temporary happiness but not everlasting joy and happiness.
Let us all try to ask the simple question to ourselves "Why do we believe, what we believe in?" OR "What is the source of our belief?" If we can get that right, rest everything falls in place automatically. Let's not be religious, God fearing atheists'!
We must really understand, after evaluating all schools of thought that have existed so far, that what we are following is indeed the Only correct path. Then, existence has a meaning, else All is in vain!
